Since the prawn of time, mankind has always enjoyed the salty delicacies plucked from our vast oceans, almost as much as the thirst-quenching pleasure we’ve derived from the long perfected art of fermenting the barley, hops, and water cocktail, famously known the world over as our beloved beer.

In celebration of this delicious aquatic and agricultural union, The Sands in Sandton invites all beautiful humans of Johannesburg to fill your glasses with frothy ales, break the shell and shake your crustaceous tails at The Prawn and Beer Festival 2018, happening on Saturday the 21st of July.

Expect a kaleidoscopic smorgasbord of prawn-star variety to abate those seafood cravings, that can be washed down with a frosty pint from any of our local brewhouses that will be displaying their wares on the day. The sensational soundtrack for this scintillating extravaganza comes in the form of Arno Carstens, frontman of legendary SA rock band and national ambassadors of naked female antelope, The Springbok Nude Girls. As well as featuring the archbishops of indie ballet attire, Desmond and the Tutus, and fearless pirate of SA’s flagship navy vessel The Zef Pearl, Captain Jack Parow.

Don’t let missing out become a prawn in your side, get your tickets now, and come gently rest like weary waves landing on the golden sands of a pristine beach, and lounge about languidly like lazy langoustines, sipping the amber bubbles of fine craft lagers in the warm winter sun.
